Mission Everest 7 Days 2025

Validated at the extremes

Mission: Everest

KarmaCane, our patented biopolymer, powers eyewear that has been tested in extreme conditions, including Mount Everest.

The expedition

Sustainable Choice

In May 2025, four former special forces soldiers travelled from the UK to the summit of Everest and back in under seven days, wearing sunglasses made from KarmaCane, Teysha's patented sugar-derived biopolymer.

The products withstood sub-zero temperatures and intense UV, while offering a safe and certified biodegradable end of life. The expedition also supported Scotty's Little Soldiers, the charity for bereaved military children.

Conditions performed in

01

Sub-zero temperatures

KarmaCane components performed at extreme altitude without becoming brittle.

02

Intense UV exposure

Materials withstood high-altitude ultraviolet radiation without degrading prematurely.

03

Altitude and pressure

Products functioned in thin-air conditions above 8,000 metres.

What it proves

01

Conventional tooling

KarmaCane was processed on standard injection moulding and extrusion equipment.

02

Real-world durability

The expedition showed that biopolymers can survive the harshest conditions on Earth.

03

Certified end of life

Despite its toughness in use, KarmaCane is certified biodegradable under OECD Test Guideline 310.
